Randow Grinding

Randow Grinding
For the last few months, I have been having a random (different times and weather conditions) a grinding/squalling noise coming from underneath the truck. At the beginning it would last a few seconds then go away, but today it went on for at least 10 minutes. At first I thought it was the transmission now I am not sure, any thoughts before talking to the mechanic. I have a 04 f150 with 69K miles.

If your truck is a 4x4
It could possibly be your IWEs in your hubs and or the IWE actuator solenoid located on the fire wall....
if your truck is a 2wd
it could possibly be the wheel bearings...

I would say that possibly one of your catalytic converters is about to go. I had an awful grinding type sound under my truck for about a couple of months, then next thing I know, lack of power and my truck is barely going 25 on the interstate at full throttle. One of the plates in the cataytic converter came loose and clogged it.
