Hmmm that has never happened to me...oh yeah I have manual locks.
That is the primary reason I opted out of power locks because sometimes it works when you dont want it to.

I was gonna say something like that but one step better for situations like these. Go to any place that cuts keys and get a NON-transistor key made. It will let you unlock the doors, play the radio but will not start the truck. Since you will have your transistor key locked in the truck you can use that one to drive off and put the nontransistor key back in its hiding place. If you hide a transistor key on your truck it makes the truck easier to steal.

There is one danger to it though. If you try to crank the truck with the nontransponder key it will set a PATS DTC that will have to be cleared.

I might be different from different years. Mine is an 06.

All of these.

I've had instances when I wanted to lock the doors with the key in the ignition and it won't let me. Mine only lock themselves when I get above a certain mph. I've never paid any attention to whether it is the 5 mph listed above or not.

Smokey, which two keys do you press on the keypad for my own future use?

I have the exterior keypad, so there's no way to lock them in the truck no matter what the truck wants to do! Also, I turned the autolock feature completely off because it was annoying.

I have always wondered what the autolock feature is even for.. to keep you from getting carjacked or having some random hitch hiker pile into your truck as you drive down the road? lol

Well, especially in Fords where the doors open when the handle is pulled, regardless of lock position. In most other brands, the doors lock and you can't accidentally open the door. I like the way the Ford doors have always operated because it saves me the frusteration.

If my key's are in the ignition and I close my doors the truck automatically unlocks itself. I also know the code too my number pad on the outside door handle so that's extra insurance.
