I think this injector issue affects a lot of people. Think of how many times we read about it on these forums alone, and we represent only a TINY fraction of 2005 F-150 owners -- my guess is, far less than 1%. So for every guy that posts about this problem here, there are probably 99 others who have a stuck injector that have never even heard of F150online......

How do you like your 05? Do you have any other problems? Is this common in the 05's?

The injector problem is unique to the 2005 models -- Ford has extended the warranty on the injectors in this model year as a response to the problem.

Not totally true. The unfortunate ones are the early '06 owners that got the leftover '05 (bad) injectors that then stick and cause a hydrolock with loss of an engine and AREN'T covered by the extended Ford (defect) warrantee. Sucks big time, but is the reason if I owned an '06, I'd spend the money to put the non-problematic injectors in and sleep a lot better.

Man I think I better do that this is the second time I have had the failure....They replaced #8 in 2008 and now I have to take mine to the stealership in the morning....suspect two bad injectors this time, plus another blown cat.

By the way the injectors I have are numbered as such:

9F593
4268G03654

Does anybody know what the replacements should be?

Well injector number 1 was bad, clogged the catalytic converter also...Cat on order...Wow sure saves Ford a lot of money replacing two cats and two injectors...3 years apart. Only 6 injectors to go....might not be as lucky next time if it hydrolocks....

There's a sticky in the V8 forum with a link to the details.

Here are the updated injectors. Cheap insurance to replace IMHO...cost me ~$200 and less than 2hours to swap.

ditto! I drove for 190,000 miles with the defective ones and decided it was time to do some much needed preventive maintenance, replaced all the cops (one was bad) so I just did them all and replaced the injectors at the same time for peace of mind, $200 for the injectors and was a piece of cake to replace them and on the bigger plus side it was like drive a new truck, made a big difference in the way it runs!

Thumbs down Dead 2005 f150

I am the lucky one today. I was driving into work this morning and my truck started losing power and bucking and then the low oil light came on and also the check engine light. It sounds like the motor is in pieces inside. Time to breakout the injector leter and start the process with the dealer. I only have
63,000 miles on my truck and i am very disapointed.
