fuel pump problem, FPCM looks good.....

Ok fellas i need some help troubleshooting.....

04 F150 supercab (newer body style), 5.4, 4x4, was running great. Went to work, shut off truck and went to start it at the end of the day and nothing. Took truck home to the shop and started investigating. Checked ALL fuses, everything's good. listened for fuel pump to engage. nothing. Unhooked fuel line before fuel filter and again checked for fuel flow....nothing. Took out tank assuming it was the fuel pump(what a great job that was filled with frozen gravel and dirt). I removed the fuel pump and bench tested it with 12v battery. pump engages and runs. I took out the FPCM and cleaned it up; looking for obvious signs of damage or corrosion. looks really good. Is there any way to test these things or am i off to buy a new one? Also anyone have any ideas as to why else my fuel pump would not be running????? Thanks....

Did you check the relay? Don't know if it applies to you m/y but you should be able to switch it with one of the others and see if that helps.

Wow - you dropped the fuel tank before checking the inertia switch and relay? You gotta learn how to read electrical diagrams!

lol....Yes I did. I was sure it was the fuel pump....285,000 kms. I have a bad habit of just "jumping" into these kinds of things. I don't really mind it though. Besides I'm old school....used to vehicles that didn't have all the electronics and safety crap on them....lol.
