4X4 hi range problem

I can't seem to get my 2004 F-150 to go into hi range. Shifts into low range with no issues, but when I switch to hi, I am getting no indication. I can however hear a slight click when I switch into hi range. Suggestions???

First try to get under your truck and hit the t-case motor with a hammer a couple times. It will help free the motor if it is stuck!

You can try the hammer trick, but if it takes 4 lo and the dash light comes on for that and not 4 hi then its the IWE soleniod.

Mine is doing the same thing. Plan on changing solenoid Thursday. Apparently the original solenoid gets water in it and the new has a "rain hood" to keep water from getting in it. Let me know if this fixes your problem. My low works perfect but I get nothing in HI

Just changed the solenoid. Couldn't wait until Thursday. Fixed it. 4wd HI now works with no problems. That's why I love this forum. Now I need to tackle the plugs while I have low miles.
