need some help

I'm sorry to say it but I'm going to be trading in my 2007 F-150 XLT with a leveling kit and 295/65/18 nitto terra graplers!!! (I'm not sure how to upload a pic on the post). Now my problem is I wanted to get a fully loaded 07 Edge AWD for the past 2 and a half months with no luck from my dealer. About a week ago i go on there website and they have a 2010 Taurus SEL with 8800 miles. I know its not an Edge but it's there and they are really nice cars. The gas and miles I've been putting on my truck have been very excessive lately and i dont see that changing any time soon. Today there was an Edge that went through the auction but it went for to much money. There both really nice cars but my main concern is that the longer i wait to trade in my truck would make my it worth less. Another thing is that the Taurus only has 8800 miles so it's almost brand new. I wouldn't know how many miles the Edge would have on it and it would be 3 years old as well. I've test driven them both and that made the decision even harder. As of right now the dealer will give me 19k for my truck with all the stock equipment back on. (even though he said it's not worth it but since he knows me) So my question is should i get the 2010 Taurus or should I keep waiting for an Edge? Thanks for all the love and help on this site!! Here is the link to the Taurus http://www.vandrunenford.com/invento...=Taurus&y=2010

hey man, sorry to hear that you are getting rid of your truck. once you've had one, you always find a need for one afterwards. to me (i'm sure i'll get bashed for this), but for me it's a no brainer. the AWD Edge is the only way i would go (love them). i'm definetly not saying there is nothing wrong with the Taurus, (i've been a Ford, Lincoln & Mercury man) all my life since i've been driving (25 years now). if the Taurus was the SHO and AWD, that would definetly be a hard decision. LOL i'm not trying to sway you in any way, i would wait for an Edge (maybe 1 or 2 years newer if you could afford it) but this is just my opinion. one more note that i've learned, never jump on the first one you find, you could get stuck unless it's under some type of warranty. i wish you well and good luck

You gotta go with your heart man. I know that the more you drive the truck, the less it's worth, but if you jump the gun and end up with something you really don't like, you'll regret it. Sounds to me like it's the Edge you've been wanting and probably it's the Edge you should go with, but if you know, not think, that the Taurus will make you as happy as the Edge would, then drop the hammer as it's newer and the miles are not that bad, and the big benni is that it still has the factory warranty.

only you can make this decision. weigh the pros and cons of each. fyi, the edges have rear wheel bearing issues and it requires the entire rear control arm to be replaced with updated pars. its costly out of warranty. so you will want to check the repair history of any edge you look at.

Thanks for your comments and opinions guys!!! i know that once i get rid of my truck i will need it for something like 03GT04FX4 said!!! and perryrl your right thats what i wanted but when that taurus showed up it was like.... "Damn" they are super nice cars and i know that i would be happy with either or. now that i know that info from 61 falcon about the rear wheel bearing issues makes me ponder even more!! dont get me wrong i love my truck just its been giving me some problems lately from shifting ruff to running like **** like it was missfiring and then would just stop (the dealer couldnt figure out either problem)!! another thing is that i actually ran out of gas (my fault) and today the bolt holding the caliper to the spindle (14mm x 2.0 threads) 1 of them came out and broke the seal on my tire so all the air came out!! thats when i noticed that was the problem and nobody had the bolt i needed to fix it!! so i have to wait till monday to call the dealer and hope they have it in stock!!! but its just been problems and stress the past few months owning my truck!! again thanks for your comments and what i think im going to do is wait another week or 2 and if nothing come through to what i want with the edge then ill get the taurus (if its still there) cause like i said its been 3 months with no luck!! hopefully my luck will start to change!!! Thanks Again and GOD BLESS

that taurus looks like ****. if thats y want one just keep the truck. i see no point in trading in your gas guzzling princess for a taurus that your going to drop 1000's of dollars into in after market parts.

get ur edge, u want it and youll b happier in the long run. and for god sakes dont put any stupid g dub crap on it.

hahahaha thats the best dude. believe me im not going to make it look ghetto like that 1 i just thought that looked real sharp like that. the wheels are too big for the car anyways. we have winters and pot holes out here in chicago so that would be no good for that lol. honestly i would be happy in either vehicle though thats why this is so hard for me. i just dont want to have any regrets or feel like i made a $25,000 mistake lol but thanks for the comment it really made me laugh lol. Thanks!!!
