I have nothing. HELP Please!!

I went out to start my truck this evening to go into town & there was nothing when I turned the key over. There was no lights, no horn, or anything, but the flashing dummy alarm light on the dash. I need some ideas on what to check for a possible solution, cause I won't even be able to get a hold of my mechanic til Monday, with tomorrow being New Years day & he is closed on Sundays.

I have a 2004 FX4 Super Cab with the 5.4 ltr motor & automatic transmission.

Thanks in advance, & have a safe & happy New Years.

Have you even checked the battery? Might want to try jumping it with it being so cold, or you may have left a light on.

dead battery..Have you checked to see that you have a tight, clean connection at the battery?

This happened to me. A new battery solved the problem. No warning whatsoever.

never had a dead battery before?

Time to take a trip to Sears and get a Diehard Gold or Platinum. Get the 8 year warranty and never have to worry about battery issues.

Could quite possibly be a battery gone bad. If you're on the original it's more than likely time for a change anyhow.

I've had several occasions over the years where a battery that was seemingly great one day just went "pfffft" and nothing.

Just like you had removed a cable, nothing, nada, zilch.

Check terminal connections, tight, clean? Any lights left on?

Try a set of jumpers off a good battery, if it tries to start, stop, remove battery and go get one taking your trade in with you.

2004 ..... it's about that time?

I got worried about it back in 06 before going west on a 3 week trip in our Merv GM, it's a '01. As a precaution I replaced it's battery and took the origfinal MC battery whose green eye was still green and built a box with handles and wheels that it sets in, covered, and that's my emergency booster now. Keep it charged, it will soon be 10 year old but it's still good. About 2 years ago I had a battery do what your's did in my poilce issue '06 CVPI and I used that old '01 batt for a few days until I got another through supply.

It was the battery guys. I had never had a battery go dead on me like that before.

It wasn't the original, some cheap Farm King battery. Bought a Dura-last gold w/1000 cca.

Mine went dead about a month ago, one day good, next - nothing. Test shows bad cell. Two days later, wifes car did the exact same thing.
