Spark Plug SUCCESS`

SO I bought plugs and was going to do it myself but decided to reach out to local dealer for a quote - they wouldnt do it??? (they are a large dealer so this pissed me off as I have given them $1000s in business in the last few years).

Extended my search to friends of friends who have private shops - preferring to get someone I trust who wouldnt BS me on cost/ability. Found local shop who quoted $250 but more $ if they break - total max of $400 labor - fair but the unknown labor got me a tad worried. Then someone gave me the name of a guy (cert Ford Tech full time) at another LARGE Ford dealer who does stuff on side and he knocked it out in well under 2 hours only breaking one plug. No soaking or other BS - Drove in, had coffee in waiting room (read work papers I brought - expecting a full day) and drove away all in this time. I brought my own plugs from Oreillys... Total cost Like $170ish (I forget exact). If anyone in Minneapolis area - PM me and I'll send you his info.

Almost didnt believe him at first as he was so "no biggie - I do these like once a week and never had a difficult time yet". Said he has ony had 1 truck ever NOT break a plug but worst was 8 breaks. These guys are so good at it - its a non issue now. So moral is - bypass service desk BS people and talk to Ford tech guys who actually turn the wrench...

PS, my 70k mile plugs were worn but not toast and didnt show lean or rish conditions even after running Edge level 2 for 30k miles. I admit, I did run a bottle of Seafoam through gas tank two weeks before plug change (was on sale for $5 for a can - so what the heck).

Hope this helps others who are nervous about this....

Well congrats, glad to hear you didn't have to sell your liver to pay for the work done.
I just did mine a few weeks ago with great success.
