Never seen one quite that bad ...
... but it sure would have brightened my mood on a slow night of work!

And it''s in Virginia at that?

We always wrote a bunch of these in December, the closer we got to Chjristmas and just after. Usually were big trucks but often enough cars and PUs too. Usually got something else out of the stop too as rarely do you find such egregious violations and not find others (like no mufflers, radar detectors, illegal tint, train horns, or maybe just a burnt out tag light) as well.

I have got to email this one out .... so funny!

He wants attention, I'm sure he'll get it.

thats crazy... but looks nice for this season...

I'm guessing the guy used these
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lights/b2c2/

so the paint is probably fine
but it would be insanely expensive!

Not mine but I know how much work it is to do something like that having participated in the local "electric light parade" for the last 4 years... This was my entry last year, "grandma got run over by a reindeer". I just use painters tape to hold the lights on the truck, the rest of the props are tied down or zip tied on. The total height of those antlers and the truck was just over 15'...

Christmas is certainly the best time of the year!

im sure some strict officer could say that is illegal colors on display on the vehicle, which could then be interpreted as "impersonating an officer"

I think its cool tho

"Strict"? Any officer not otherwise preoccupied with something of greater priority is gonna tag that one. That one is screaming for attention. My guess is he will have his ticket before the week's out, maybe several.

Ain't no "could" to it neither, it is a violation in Virginia under the lighting laws .... as well as in every other state. It''s a motor vehicle when brought out on a public highway or road, not a Christmas tree. It has nothing to do with spirit, it has everything to do with safety and unecessry distractions to other motorist.

The part about "impersonating an officer" is not true ..... not true at all, no way it even comes close.

I agree though, it is cool.

http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...+cod+46.2-1020 / 3rd paragraph:
Unless such lighting device is both covered and unlit, no motor vehicle which is equipped with any lighting device other than lights required or permitted in this article, required or approved by the Superintendent, or required by the federal Department of Transportation shall be operated on any highway in the Commonwealth. Nothing in this section shall permit any vehicle, not otherwise authorized, to be equipped with colored emergency lights, whether blinking or steady-burning.

Why am I not supprised this Smilie was used instead of this one

J/K - If that was offensive I appologize, heck I am a software engineer so I get nerd jokes thrown at me, comes with the job.

I do agree, at the end of the day .... "It has nothing to do with spirit, it has everything to do with safety and unecessry distractions to other motorist." - You are correct here. Happy Holidays

I'm just a long time coffee drinker ..... haven't had a beer since probaly 1978. (I'm making no judgements here)

No offense taken, and certainly none intended to anyone. I tried to keep it up beat.

Wasn't trying to do anything to kill the holiday spirit or alter anyone's decisions, but there are some on here operating close to the bone with little $$$ left over for tickets ...
... and that truck absolutely screams for one.

And now that all know ....
