Not mine but I know how much work it is to do something like that having participated in the local "electric light parade" for the last 4 years... This was my entry last year, "grandma got run over by a reindeer". I just use painters tape to hold the lights on the truck, the rest of the props are tied down or zip tied on. The total height of those antlers and the truck was just over 15'...

... but that does not mean they can be charged under that section with impersonating an officer ..... it just means they get to pay a fine (and maybe having the tags removed and vehicle towed and tags only being returned when lighting is legal, depends on your state's other laws) for having illegal lights on the vehicle, lights not authorized on their vehicle.
When reading law, you read what is there and no more. Every comma, every semicolon, every period has a purpose.

I miss the old days when a picture would bring a smile to someone face with a positive reaction or "wow nice picture" comments to follow. Now a days everyone with a mouse is a lawyer who enjoys pointing out the negativity of a situation.

The member who was the first to point out the negativity is a police officer, and why do you have a problem with that? Note that he DID say that it looked cool.
