noob with a few questions
So it begins - the project - here is the truck I just bought from my dad for $9000 - he is retired and doesn't drive it anymore so he helped me out while I helped him out getting it paid off - since I need it it in Alaska -

So I gotta drive it back to NY and then in September drive to Alaska after I go thru school
Just ordered the 6'' Pro Comp lift kit and ordering 35'' general grabber and 17'' mickey thompson sidebiters so more to follow

just make sure that the states you are driving through will not pull you over for having yoru truck jacked up 6". I want to say it is not street legal to drive a vehicle lifted any more than 4" in Wisconsin, for example.
getting stationed at Richardson . how much longer are u there?
yeah i am going to have to get it regeared for the drive to alaska I figured a $2000 investment will pay off instead of the loss of MPG in the long run
nah being military i can almost get away with murder - like in NY I had limo tent on my old charger and never got messed with because I had FL plates - either way most states a cannot ticket u if u are breaking a state law on a vehicle modifcation due to u are only "passing" thru.
I'd say about 2.5 more years. Very nice base up here and there are a lot of modded out trucks. I drove from minneapolis to here with my f150 and it was a great drive, wasn't that bad at all like people would think. Just sucked driving through canada when gas is over $4.00 a gallon... but gas up here is $3.38

also if anyone knows I currently have 3.55 gearing in the rear ..what is the recommended for 35'' tires to help save on gas...not too concerned about towing but more of traveling long distance
yeah i am looking foward to the drive from NY to Alaska - how is the off roading there?

, I'm saving up for a suspension lift though. Its a scenic drive to Alaska! Espically if you're going through Edmonton, Fort St John, Fort Nelson, Whitehorse, etc. Made a lot of money for truck upgrades doing that dity move. You can find some decent trails off base and little on base. I try to avoid doing heavy off roading because i have an aluminum leveling kit

well 25U which is signal support so doing everything..but being Airborne qualified i'll be attached with a combat unit
