I've got Troyer Fans.

You need to ask some specific questions.

There are alot of variables.

hey there, i just recently installed an efan on my '04 F-150, 5.4 liter. not sure how to post any pics here, but i do have them in my album. i purchased a 20" fan that came off of a Taurus from gt_recycler on ebay. he also has some pics of the job i done. it is a very easy install, but will take a few hours. there is a website you could go to as well, www.modmyf150.com once you are there, click cooling and then on the efan pic. it will give you a list of hardware you need for the install. i purchased a Flex-a-lite controller (31165) from Summit Racing off of ebay as well, they were the cheapest. total in the project is about $200 which included a couple of brewskies!!! hope this helps, and if you have any questions, i'll be glad to answer them.

I have the Troyer set. Derale also makes a set of fans that is engineered to drop into the F-150.

I think he means Flex-a-Lite. I too have the Troyer fans and the components are made by Derale. There's no shortage of threads in the "Other Aftermarket" forum on this site with all sorts of different options, including controllers. The 2010 - up F-150 comes with electric fans that seem to bolt up to the 04-08 models, but you still need a means to control them. That's the route I would pursue if I was going to do it over again.

Nope. I mean Derale. As in the Derale 16027.

The Troyer kit offers 5500 CFM, as opposed to the Derale 4000 CFM.

IIRC 2007 starts using the pulse width modulated electromagnetic fan clutch instead of the thermal fan clutch, so you will need to bypass the factory wiring to be able to avoid a CEL

I have installed two sets of home made fan kits on two 2005 trucks, as well as two 2001 extended cabs and my silver 2003 screw

This is true on 07+ MY, however it will not set a CEL,but will have a code stored. I can't remember the code, but it relates to fan RPM parameters. It does not affect the operation of the truck though and doesn't turn the light on.

While I'm sure it could be modified to fit, it is a universal kit. Flex-a-Lite does make a F-150 specific application.

The code shows up on my LiveWire. Talked to Troyer about it. They have no fix-their instructions don't mention the electric clutch models, just earlier years, and they don't think its an issue.

Looking for a jumper, or a resistor jumper solution to trick the computer.

BTW, I've heard that DC Controller is bad-a**, but I haven't had an issue with my Troyer Controller. After reading all the negative, "The Troyer controller fries itself" talk, I chalked it up to installation. I soldered and shrink-wrapped every connection...no problems yet.
