Keep the warranty if you have the 5.4L engine.

Items that broke on mine:

Heater: 40k
Window Regulator: 45K
Transmission: 72k
Ball joints: 100k
Spark plug disaster: 103k
Window regulator again: 108k

I'm only covered to 75k on the extended warranty. What went wrong with your tranny?

And did you ever do transmission flushes before it broke?

What's with the window regulators? I just had mine replaced a couple weeks ago.

They are flimsy junk. Some have replaced 2 or 3 of them.

My 04 has over 113k miles on it and i'm still on my original motor, tranny and rearend. Costliest repair so far has been a window regulator. Only things i've replaced is the battery, regulator and both axle seals. I don't treat my truck like a pampered egg either. I've been running 33" tires for the past 15k miles also. The truck has been from Louisiana too Oregon three times. It's pretty much hit and miss. Some people buy a jewel and some get the lemon.

at 68k miles now... only needed small repairs

tranny seal
rear ls clutches
new manifold as it had a ticking leak.

My local dealer is over priced but these added up to over $2500. covered by my warranty.

If you did your own labor you could do it in garage for $700.

3rd gear and OD bands were completely destroyed. I did tranny flushes every 30k. The truck was 100% stock at that point too, so I cant blame the big tires or custom tuning for the problem. Frankly the truck runs a million times better with Troyer Tuning than it did stock. I hope I just had a melon, the 2nd tranny seems to be doing much better so far.
