Coilovers to replace Bilstein 5100s 2" lift shocks?

It's time to replace my Bilstein 5100 0"-2" Lift Front Shocks with stock springs on my 04 FX4. I'm thinking of going with coilovers this time round. My truck is 100% on-road, mostly highway. Will coilovers improve the on-road ride quality over the strut setup? Also, any advantage to go with one brand over another, besides price, since I'm not using it off-road?

Thanks!

Why are you taking off the Bilsteins?

They're over 3 years old and shot and passenger side spring is sagging bad. So since I've got to replace both I'm looking at coilovers. Its either that or new springs and new Bilsteins or Ranchos. Onroad ride quality is most important so if coilovers give a better, more controlled ride that's how I'll go.

I thought the 5100's had a lifetime warranty. Only reason I ask is I considered them prior to doing the AS. What scared me off was some said they were pretty firm. Been that route on a previous truck, HD shocks were great off road but were really quite inadequate on pavement for ride comfort. Can't comment on the coilovers, I didn't even consider due to the $$$ for them.

If they are really worn out, then send them back to be replaced.. that's what lifetime warranties mean... Then you can still get your coilovers and sell me the 5100's for cheap

Yeah, they do have a lifetime warranty. I had my passenger side rear fail so I have a warranty claim with Top Gun Customz. Had to buy a new one, then I will send the bad one directly to Bilstein. From there they decide whether they will cover it or not. If so, I get a refund. If not, I needed to buy one anyway

I'll have to check if mine carry the same warranty since they are re-badged Bilsteins I got off eBay. Regardless, I'd still like to get some feedback on coilovers since I'm going to replace the springs as well.

I have had my bilsteins for 6 months and absolutely love them. the ride is more firm but if you put a larger size tire on it pretty much evens out.. the high ride on my truck is amazing says my gf and her friends.

if you have the $$ for coilovers then id say get them

if i could afford coil overs id get these in a heart beat.
