Sliding Rear Window Dead

The small rear window won't open anymore. I took it to the dealer for another problem and they said the motor was shorted out. The repair was pretty expensive so I passed.

Any advice on replacing this motor myself or other troubleshooting tips.

Thanks

For a motor - you can try a recycler...

Good luck.

If it's a Super Crew with a rear seat arm rest easy fix,Open the arm rest feel for a hard place in the seat back (behind where the arm rest folds up) have some one hold the switch them take a hammer I used the handle end hit the hard spot previously mentioned window should open lube cables with WD40 or other lubricant (top & bottom of window opening) Cycle window several times,Open window at least once a week to keep it working,Did this about 2 months a go to mine & it's still working fine

I know that they are starting to come out with some re-manned motors for these that typically run about $250. Pretty easy to do yourself. Most glass shops will quote you a whole new window that will prolly be in the $750 range for OEM. Do NOT go with an aftermarket! They will give you wiring issues and usually only last a year or so.
