sounds good but goes slow

hey guys I was wondering if anyone had this problem. when i give the truck about 1/4 to 1/2 petal the truck runs great. but when I give it full pedal trans down shifts motor picks up revs but just dont go. as it picks up speed you can feel it running better. Truck is a 2006 FX4 screw 5.4. Any info would be great I'll try anything!

At 108k it needs spark plugs if they haven't been changed. Be aware of the sticking and breaking issues. Take it to a muffler shop and get them to check the cats for clogging with an infrared tester.

K&N won't do anything for you except let more dust in. Stock paper filter is as good as any.

That means one of your cats is bad. Perfect time to upgrade to some hi-flow cats. They're cheaper than OEM and still pass emissions.

wanted to go with magna flow cats.I went to talk to our local muffler shop and they said that magnaflow cats did not have enough packing to keep the code little off. What do you guys think I've read alot of you guys are running magnaflows? Do they last?

Don't ask a muffler shop guy questions about cats. They really know nothing about the cats, just that they can get more money out of you by having you order the OE knock offs their company vendors, and the sensors go after the cats. Simple stuff.

Get the Magnaflow #94106 hi-flow cats for $67ea, and go in, tell them to install these inplace of OEMs as far forward as possible, with the O2s mounted after the cats. Not in them. And don't listen to their 'knowledgible professional advice'. Tell them to do it & get it off their damn rack and pay.

X2

You can't take advice from people that still believe in "back pressure".

Yea they are ****tyyy to replace.... And btw my friend has a 05 lariat 5.4 and he has 97k miles and he just called me today and was like "My car has no torque, I had half a tank and drove 20miles and now its almost empty"... So I think his plugs are calling it quits too....

If you do your searches for tips to remove it should help. Unfortunately cant promise that one wont break. Good luck man!
