I want to remove my 3" SI/SO Flowmaster 50 Series SUV muffler and install a Magnaflow muffler. The 50 series muffler is audible at 70 mph (2K RPM's) but has no drone.

I want to hear the muffler at WOT but I do not want any drone from 1700 to 2100 RPM's. Which Magnaflow would be best for me? The 5x8x24" or the 5x11x22"? The exhaust shop thinks either one would be ok. Any input?

I have the 5x11x22 Magnaflow. I also took off my flowmaster, I couldn't handle the drone at high RPM's while towing. Drove me nuts! The Magnaflow is nice and mild on the freeway and sounds real good when you hit the gas.

 

I was leaning toward the 5x11x22" muffler. I guess I need to visit Performance Peddler. Thanks for the info.
