ratteling supercab doors

Lately ive noticed my drivers side door and rear door making a lot of noise even just driving on the highway. Seems like any bump i hit is making noise. Is this common with your trucks? The back doors seem to move quite a lot when closing the front door, although i notice the same thing on my f350 (the chevy work truck i drive everyday doesn't do it at all and its beat!)... just wondering if there is something i can tighten that anyone knows about?? My trucks a 2006 fx4 supercab 70 000 klms... the noise is driving me nuts! thanks for any advise besides turn the radio up haha

You can try what I did..it sounds stupid, but this came from the dealer. Be sure to shut the rear doors from the upper part around the middle of the window. Quite often, the upper latch won't catch if you don't do it that way and be sure to use a little force doing this..it took care of my rattle. The doors on the scab's are a real bear to adjust I guess. just my 2.5 cents

I tried to adjust mine, seems like there is very little adjustment. If I slam the back door shut, seems to help. My front passenger door is the one that rattles on mine.

I had this problem in my 2005 Lariat... If you take a torx socket and slightly loosen the two bolts that hold down the bottom strikers that the doors latch on, LIGHTLY tap them inward toward the truck with a hammer or rubber mallet. Do little adjustments at a time until you get it to where it wont rattle. This fixed my buddie's reg cab with those door McNuggets, too.

I sometimes get it if the doors are not shut properly. Like Sam said try shutting the door from the top making sure the top latch actually catches when the door shuts. My passenger rear door will do this if not shut properly.

Like some of the others have said, mine will also rattle some if their not closed tight. I find that a firm closing always gets them closed right. Not slamming them just a good firm closing.

My reg cab does this too. let me know if it works for you and I will try it too. I even had Ford try but they gave up.

I had the same problem on my 06 supercab in the rear passenger door, i found the bottom of the window track had come loose and it was rattling. I fixed it once, but it came back. The second time I found out that the bolt holding it had the track in a bind and was causing the clip to pop out of its place, I loosened it and re-torqued it wile holding the track. No more rattle.

I had/have the same problem on my 05. I ordered replacement door stop/bumpers from Ford, but the replacements that came in were different from the originals (shorter, different shape). So i went to O'Reilly's and bought a rubber cap to insert into the old mushroom'd bumper which gave it more stiffness and extended it's length 1/4". It's eliminated my rattle for the most part. I still get a faint "tick" from the door on large bumps if i hit them a certain way, so i'm going to shim the bumper with a washer to see if it fixes the problem completely.
