Just changed my fuel filter blue clip
Just got finished changing my fuel filter took all of 5 minutes to do. I have the blue clips and purchased the fuel disconnect tool set at advance auto. Inserted the blue and gray clips on each side of the fuel filter pushed them into the line and popped the line right off. The filter was surprising dirty for only 15k on it of using premium fuel from mostly shell some exxon. Heres a pic
Funny that you post this. I just changed mine last week and having less than 10k I had tons of sandy particles in the filter and my filter was really dirty. I filled up at a local citgo station and instantly my truck was struggling to stay running while at lights and stop signs and was cutting out during take off.
I had less than 1 gallon in my tank when I filled up so once I found that issue in the filter I drained all the gas and all better now.
A lot of people under estimate their fuel filter and changing it.

I change mine every other oil change or so and there really not as dirty as I would think cause I fill up at alot of smaller stations and fill up quite a bit out of service tanks at the farm ect.
I changed mine a couple weeks ago and was startled at all the crud that was in there. I bought my truck used with about 45K on it and don't know if the filter had ever been changed before. My previous truck I bought new back in '92, and the filters always seemed to be clean when I would replace them. I can't help wondering where all the sand is coming from. I also wonder what damage the sand and crud does to the fuel pump prior to seeing the filter.
Bob, the service manager at my local stealership who I have dealt with on many occasions told me once you discover sandy particles in your fuel filter do NOT run your tank less than 1/4 low which will stop the fuel pump from picking any crap up in your tank.
...Also the fuel helps cool the electric pump. Still, I have mixed feelings- run it low to get the rest of the crud into the filter and out of the tank-but the pump is chewing all that junk on the way to the filter.
