Transmission Dipstick Tube/ Transmission Problem

Hey,

I have an 04 F-150 4X4. Unbeknown to me the dealer lost my dipstick tube several years back. I learned of this issue about a year ago but dont drive the truck often. Bottom line, I'm trying to put in a new dip stick.

Dealer told me they discountinued my old dipstick and I needed to get a new tube to go with my new dipstick. in trying to replace the tube, I'm running into issues trying to get it out without removing anything else.

The following pictures are the lines in my way. What are they? Transmission cooler lines? If i remove them, will a lot of fluid leak out? Are they hard to put back?

Any other tips for getting this thing out so I can finally drop the pan and flush my fluid?

Thanks,

you might try a junk yard or transmission shop.

yes, their tranny cooler lines.... undo them, and fluid will come out!

if you unbolted the tube from the side of the block, it WILL come out... trust me.. its just difficult... took me awhile to pull mine out... but its do-able.

Did you end up takinf the cooler lines off? If so did it allow the space to get the tube in? I just tired installing a new tube, was not prepared to mess with coolent

Dude don't drain it there use the coolant line and the torque converter drain then just drop the pan, I've welded in threadlet and mounted a drain plug in the low part of my pan. But who all has a tig welder
