question about auto lamps / drls.

so i was driving around in obx with all the windows down, and the sunroof open, and i realized the foglight thing was lit up, its in auto lamp with fogs, and the lights were on. i turned the lights off and the gagues got brigter. i got to screwing with it, and i dont think my truck has daytime runnin lights, i checked the fuse pannel under the bay and it doesent have the drl relay or the relay to override the drls in high beam mode. and when my lights are on and the trucks in the sun, the tail lights are on, the manual said that when the drls are on the tail lamps wont be on.

so my truck has no day time running lights, and its 80 and sunny here and my headlights are on casue the truck thinks its dark out.

wheres the sensor for the auto lamps? i remember this working correctly, dont know if ive done soemthing or not. i remember pulling into a drive thru or something and having the lights kick on.

any ideas? he manual doesnet have any help

Sensor for the lights is right on top of the dash in front of the driver, the little black deal with the blinking red light. If you have it covered up, the lights will come on.

I'm pretty sure the black dome with the blinking red light is the PATS system. I always thought the auto sensor was in the center of the dash in front of the tray on top.

its the blinking thing on your dash in front of the steering wheel. that thing is the PATS system. it also has the sensor.

Auto Lights on sensor = little black dome thingy on the dash in front of the steering wheel. takes 30+ seconds of low level light and then it will turn on the headlights/running lights...but only when the headlamp switch is in "AUTO"

Daytime running lights = no sensor at all. It's just a relay in the engine bay (see pic below). anytime the trans is in Reverse or a forward gear the headlights are on 80% power. go off when in Park or Neutral

Auto-Dim Rear view mirror = little sensor window on the rear view mirror. only controls that mirror
