headlight allignment problem

Just swapped in some different headlights in my 05 fx4 and my driver side headlight is way to high. But the adjustment screw is just about all the way in and it didn't really move down any. What is going on and what do you think could be bent or lose?

am I the first one with an adjustment problem? I don't quite understand how the adjustments works inside to know what to try to fix it. I'm thinking about fully removing the adjustmen screw and then trying again. Maybe it will reset the housing?

The first thing you need to do is determine if the housing is properly / fully seated. If it's not, all bets are off. If it is, then you need to verify if the adjusting screw is actually engaging the reflector inside the housing to aim it up and down. (There is no lateral adjustment.) If it's not engaged, you may have to play some games with a hook or coat hanger through the opening for the headlight bulb whilst turning the adjustment screw. My bet is your housing is not fully seated though.

I will check the housing. Pretty sure it's seated but I will just pop it out any way and reseat it.

I had this problem once on a pair of aftermarket H/Lights (eBay stuff). as it turned out the adjustment ball slider in back of the reflector was broken off and would not adjust. Long story short....couldn't get anywhere with the seller, so, my loss!! It happens!! Hope you have better luck with yours.

The other very common problem is not seating the bulb correctly.

seems like everything was seated correctly. I just adjusted that screw all the way in until there was no threads left and it's aimed correctly now. kinda odd, but its good now.
