I am looking at buying mine soon and just want to see how y'all like yours.

Any reason you want the Rancho over the Bilstien?

Windsor May 1, 2010 08:35 AM

I have the Rancho Quik-Lifts and I don't think they suck. Rancho makes quality components. I like the adjustability from soft to firm and because they are adjustable struts. it makes them a bit more expensive. I think that's the only reason why you see more Bilstein installs. I lost some of the lift from installing the supercharger because it puts quite a bit more weight over the front wheels, but that's the reason I installed them in the first place. Pics are in post 123 in this thread. I'm still running the stock wheels and tires. I will be installing a slightly wider 32" tire on 20" wheels. I just intent to get some more miles out of these tires before I change them.

I decided on the Rancho just for the adjust-ability factor. I will eventually add on the control module so i can adjust on the fly.

what do the bilstien's run $? and how much lift do you get with them? they say 2.75" on some applications what did y'all get

Most guys are getting around 2 inches with the Bilstiens. I agree Rancho makes awesome stuff. If either of my trucks were to get lifted I would do with Rancho. But I would also add Bilstien shocks.

Again, I've had both Bilsteins w/ 2" lift and now the Rancho 9000xls and can safely say the Bilsteins are better than stock, and ride well. The 9000xls (same as what's on the QL) are ALSO very nice and I love the adustability factor. I have had to adjust a few times: when I first got them to dial them in, when towing (several times) and when I got the new 18x10's. I am planning a long boat trip and like knowing that I can adjust my ride if needed. But having had both, can I say one set is better than the other?

Nope, both dampen the ride equally well. If you like the ability to adjust your ride, get the Ranchos. If not, then Bilsteins are your choice. In either case, I am sure you won't be disappointed so go with what best fits your needs and call it a day.

I've been running the Rancho QuickLifts for a month or so and love them. I got about 2 inches on the front and since I haul a couple different trailers, I put the add-a-leafs on the rear. My tires are 305/65/18 BFG ATs and no rubbing at all. Again I love the ride.
