Need ur Help/info/advice
Got my clutch paks replaced on warranty 3 years ago on my 2004 screw.
Starting to notice they are acting up again.
Dealer gave me over the phone estimate of 800 and up.
Went to my local shop, he said to try changing fluid and adding friction modifier. Says sometimes they get "sticky" also said I might have to change to a couple of times.
I could get extended warranty for about 1500, wait awhile then take it in, its not that noticable that an inspection would pick it up.
If I go with changing the fluid do I have to add the friction modifier or is it part of the new sythetic fluid?? Or should I not bother and get the warranty???
Is it easy to change the fluid? How much is a fluid change??
Sorry for all the questions and long post.
All thoughts and info please and thanks

Do what I did, tell the dealer where to get off and get yourself a Detroit TruTrac from Eaton. Dealer wanted 1200 or 1400 bucks to replace my rear diff because of the same problem. I spent $600ish on the TruTrac and $150 on the labor. Now I have a superior part and didn't get screwed.
i would just change the fluid yourself and see if it helps, its easy! get yourself about 4 quarts of motorcraft 75w140 gear oil (about $18 a quart) and make sure you get the friction modifier (motorcraft part# xl.3) if you have limited slip!

I think I'll try the fluid change even tho I think its a temp fix, thats if it helps.
