That sucks, dude.

I left my cell phone on my seat once (forgot) - came out to find the window of my Mustang smashed, $129 cheapo Kenwood, cell phone and flashlight missing. Broad daylight, busy place of business and nobody saw anything. Called the cops and they didn't even come out. Just took my info over the phone.

Funny thing was, my first thought when I saw it was "I don't remember my window being smashed".

Took the door panel off and the seats out to vacuum, and was STILL finding glass a year later. That stuff gets everywhere.

You sure the thieves didn't do it.

J/K. Either way, sucks about the incident. As someone else suggested, get a locking console, and put everything in there. It keeps it out of site, and if they do try to go for the console, they won't get in.

The only downside to a nice looking truck is that it draws attention; from everyone.

I'm like stealth - learned my lesson early in life. I was in a south Phoenix Blockbuster for 15 minutes, early evening, crowded parking lot, came out to a cleaned out truck. I couldn't believe how fast it happened.

I try to keep it low-key now, and I got the hell out of Phoenix.

Thieves are scumb and some very dumb. A buddy and I had just walked out of West Edmonton Mall which up until reciently was the biggest mall in the World and where heading out onto the massive parking lot toward where he parked. We were about 1/2 way to his truck and this little greaseball walked up to me and tried to sell me my buddies radar detector!!. Being 6'4" and 275 lbs i had no trouble grabbing the little dork and hauled him with us to my buddies truck. It had a smashed out window and gee ..no radar dectector! The sissy was screaming like a girl attracting all kinds of attention. Even mall security that drive around in Chevy Blazers who promptly hauled the guy to the mall holding cells to wait for the cops!

Ocala, that is where I live also. What bowling alley was it? Galaxy Lanes off of 17th? Just curious. Oh yeah...what did you say...the glass ripped your seat when your truck was broken into? Just a thought.

WELL....I was pissed cus now I had to call mom and dad, wake them up and call the cops to report this. Thankfully the cops were pretty cool and not in a pissy mood, they found blood drops around my truck so that DEFINITELY helps...oh it gets better, the guy who broke into my truck got into my first aid kit and helped himself to some band-aids hahahahahahahaha. That made me laugh when the forensics lady told me lol. Anyways so now I can't drive my truck because I have no window (( so we have to get that fixed and now I don't have my Oakleys...ehh I can live without em. I'll have pics up later when I get home from work.
Man that sucks. I had the same thing happen to me except I was at school. I arrived at 1145, came back at 230 to find my passenger side window smashed out, my gps, ipod and ipod cord were stolen. Thankfully insurance covered the window, $360 at the dealer here in Cali. Still glass left in the door so make sure they clean it out really well, probably have to take the door panel off to get it all out. Worst thing is, there were two people standing across the street when it happened, they could only help with description of the two crooks, their car color and the time it happened, never thought to take any more information down or call the cops for me.

Anyways, three calls later the cop shows up, really helpful, tells me to wait for CSI to show up and take prints. 3 hours later, in 50 degree weather, they show up and tell me theres nothing they can do

Would have been nice to know 3 hours earlier, but hey, I learn my lesson. NEVER leave anything valuable sitting around no matter where you are, oh and upgrade the s****y factory alarm

That sucks, you will be finding glass FOREVER in the truck. Sounds like it was just young punks that need a good spanking!
A little note on the GPS,NEVER put your actual home as a destination. No matter where you are comming from when you get close to home you can find your way there. I like to use the police sub station that's close to me as home destination. That way if they rip your GPS they can't find your truck later and really clean it out!!

Wow man, see for me it happened at night and we were really busy...plus my truck was RIGHT in front of the main entrance...I still can't believe nobody saw it, unless it happened after we closed at 1am and no customers were there. I'm not looking foward to cleaning it all....trust me haha

Haha I should say that they did, insurance would help me with that...idk though, the cops didn't ask me about it suprisingly. I looked at a couple websites with the console locks a couple minutes ago, will be ordering one soon...along with a viper alarm system

I know man, I was talking to the cops and they said the exact same thing about the nice looking truck and how it draws attention not only to them but other ppl and aholes like the ppl that broke into my truck. I learned my lesson though, next time I hope I catch them in the act....take care of them myself haha
