Did you put on the running boards flipped 180 on purpose?

Drove it to town and back today. Last week I got my first tint ticket with it last week, $127. New town cop doesn't like 5% apparently.

Took this photo of it.

And I took this shot to encourage Kmac to grab some Nittos.

Edit:

Also I forgot, I tore my front end down to pull my Hawk LTS brake pads out. Doing a manufacturer warranty replacement. I discovered the last time I tore down a couple months ago the backing pad had fell off during removal. This time all of them came off. Summit Racing has my replacements coming tomorrow so all I will have to do is throw them on and button up/grease the pins and bed them in. Glad Summit did me a free replacement though. However, it is pretty disappointing to waste the pads but the squeak I have is horrible.

It is sad though because these pads have tons of life left in them, and I have over 40,000 miles on these things!

And a mandatory "jacked" pic before I closed the garage for the night.

And that's my GPS unit mounted on the lower part of the steering wheel. I gotta say, it's super annoying having the unit so far from normal field of view, but I only use it when I'm actually in need of directions, and I primarily use it for voice, secondary is screen and only when I'm driving in a straight line or driving slowly. Also, it's lame when I'm doing a hard turn because I like to let the wheel return freely, so as the wheel slides the GPS unit comes in contact with my hand. It didn't take long to get used to it. So far, I like it. The biggest drawback is I have to make a rig to allow it to charge without having a cable lock up the steering wheel.

Honestly I wouldn't even have this if I've never seen it done before, if my Alpine IVA-W205 didn't have a fault and disallowed connectivity to the Blackbird 200, and if I didn't have my CB radio or EDGE Programmer mounted where they are (because I would have made room for the GPS in either of those locations).

And yes, I understand the interior of my truck looks like a commercial airliner.

When you said that I looked at some pictures of the truck when I first bought it. They were always on backwards!!! Either the dealership but them on like that or the previous owner did. I didn't even notice when I put them back on after painting them. Good eye there k_h

Looking at your drivers side before pic, it is on the right way, and the after it is flipped on backwards... Not a horrible look, but I can see it potentially causing problems...

FWIW, I would LOVE to have a set of those oval bars like that... They look great painted.

I think I would hate having the GPS down there, like trying to read your zipper you know?

By the way, is that a Cobra 29LTD on the dash? Do you have any thermal problems with it there? I need to re-mount my TRC-465 but don't want to melt the traces on the board... My plan was a ventilated hump mount box, but puts me in the same problem you have with the GPS, display too low to read safely when driving...

So now I'm confused, should the flares be going in or out? I had them going in for the past year with no problems but only a couple of weeks or so with them flared out. And they are the Lariat chrome ones but I hate chrome. That's why I plasti-dipped them and I love that look so much better as well. I'm really wanting a set of black n-fabs though but these will do for now until I get enough spare change and sell these and buy the nfabs.

The end flares are supposed to go in, not out...

Ok thanks, after looking at it awhile it does look better the correct way. How would it cause problems going out since we're on the subject?

Sticking out would be more prone to snagging on things, and pulling them INTO the bodywork / underside of the truck... The odds are small, but say for example you are driving after a storm, there's a limb on the road, that gets kicked up by the tire, the gap between the bar and the body, shaped funnel like as it is the way you have it mounted, would be MUCH more likely to entrap the limb, and smash it into your door / fender...

Good catch haha.

Darren, I just went to Discount earlier today and I'm getting Nittos!

My dang wheels might be here in two weeks, which means the earliest I can do my lift is 3 weeks from today. I wanted this all done a month ago, but that's what happens with only one day off. I'm waiting on a call back from the offroad shop right now. I'll probably have to call them for a third time to speak with who I've been talking to about my truck . . .

Greentitan, there's a set of NFABs on the Houston CL for $250 right now

So much to do.

I started last week to get some maintenance done on my 2004 as a long trip towing is coming up. Changed the oil and filter (Amzoil). Did a fuel filter too. I have been changing out my spark plugs every 20K miles mostly due to the "breaking issues" and so far never a problem. So as I'm about 6K beyond when I do this I did a change out of the plugs. Bought the newer SP-515 Motorcrafts. Admit its a pain to get to all the plugs and remove all the coils. I can do it in about an hour. I then proceed to start the engine. Not happy as there is a major miss. So I shut it down and try to figure is it a coil or a plug? I carry a spare set of the new Champion plugs so I dig in and change the plugs to the Champs. No good! same bad miss. I tried puling the coil connectors one at a time but it is almost impossible to tell anything. I remove the coils and did a resistance check on the primary and secondaries. They all look good and in range. One other concern are the COP two wire connectors. I don't have an extra coil to play with. I just ordered a full set of Motorcraft COPs. And also bought 8 new connector pig tails to replace the originals. I left the Champs in and after its all together I give her a try. It starts and runs crappy and NO accelerator at all! Shut it off and start a search. I found the accelerator connector on the throttle body was not snapped in all the way. I must have knocked it loose along the way. Its now running like new and I'm off for a test run. And by the way, I also replaced the VCT solenoids and seals. The engine is much quieter now and a lot more zippy!

Painted the calipers, probably get mixed reviews. And replastidipped the wheels.

Also, paint matched the fathers topper. Even taught the girlfriend how to paint.

Yesterday i removed my back seat to retrieve my door code and painted my rear wheel wells with undercoating spray.

Both worked out well.......back seat was a little tedious at times but i won the battle.
