The pics are from Saturday...

New filter installed.

Pan proppped in place and wedged ready for the drain plug to get welded in.

We got the transmission / T-case out, slid the converter off, and discovered that old ATF, left in a thin enough layer and exposed to air becomes a goo that somewhat resembles cosmoline, all over the inside of the bell housing. The pump oil seal is def leaking. We pulled the pump to replace the gasket, and O ring, and found out the trans parts shop sold me the wrong size O ring... Had to wait to get to the dealer which I did today at lunch to go grab one...

Had to wrap it up, literally. Wrapped the trans and pump in fresh plastic to keep contaminants out, and put it on a shelf until I can get back to it this weekend. Another long weekend for me. Working and working on my truck, plus to top it off, my father in law's 82nd birthday is happening this weekend... Not gonna get crap done.

Not today, but over the weekend I spent a good amount of time on the truck. Got the thing to the point of needing to swap the fuel filter, fill, reconnect battery, start, check, top off, check, check again, and then when that is done, check...

I also finally offloaded my teeny tiny little wimpy Goodwrench floor jack and puny jack stands for a 4 ton service jack and 6 ton stands from Harbor Freight. Not super high on everyone's ooh and ahh list I know, but seems pretty well made, and the specs are fantastic...

Those will come in very handy when I tear the QuickLIifts out. I am going to see if the Heavy Duty springs from Moog will fix my sagging problem. For an off road suspension company, Rancho hasn't been super helpful with getting this squared away... I guess they don't figure folks with full size trucks mount winches or something...

My plan was tonight to go and head over to finish it up, however my Brother In Laws shop is about an hour from the house, and I am ending up on call tonight, and have a Dr. visit tomorrow. Won't be able to finish the truck and get it home until Wednesday it is looking like...

IF it is indeed ready to go, then I start regularly driving it, and leaving the Saturn in the driveway... Ready to strip it down and do the work it needs.

Hit 50,000 miles, so I gave it a wash . . . but then it rained anyway. I scrubbed and scrubbed with a hard bristle brush but I couldn't get the white stains out of my bed.

Anyways, I haven't done much to mine but got it dusty. So I put a old freezer i'm going to scrap in it and hauling it to the girlfriend's father's place after work tomorrow.

Pic brought to you by my new Samsung Galaxy S5!

With that out and an old heavy television out, I can now fit both my vehicles in snug.

Darren, every time I see your truck I get extremely envious. She's truly a beauty.

Over the weekend I tackled my phaser job. Have a few more things to do to get it running 100% again. Going to change all the plugs(again) and coils. I also should have looked at doing lifters while I was in there, I think I may have some bleeding down.

Drove her to work, first time since mid December she's been road worthy. Noticed a scrapy / squeaky noise, sounds like aluminum foil. I am thinking the heat shield might be a hair too close to the front drive shaft and may need to be manipulated around a bit...

Will have info going in on my other ongoing albeit rather long in the tooth threads today...

Gassed it up and took it through the car wash. It really needed it.
