2004 ford f150 4x4 5.4L Lariat 65K

Got my bank 1(passenger side) solenoid out. Cleaned with carb cleaner, wd40'd, carb cleaner, wd40'd ... seems clean now, it was dirty and sludgy looking before.

Now how do i test it?

I know these aren't under constant voltage, and that they are pulsed. I read constant voltage for too long can fry them.

To test, Do i just use my vehicle's battery power and quickly/briefly make a connection to the 2 connector on the vct? Or does it use some other regulated voltage from the vehicle ..... i don't wanna fry a 150 dollar part for nothing after all?

So how do i test this thing?

Posting this here cause I am proud of my work.

Here we go, so far I have.
Spent 5 hours on it today, and 4 on Tuesday. Some time on Wednesday.

Steam cleaned the seats, carpet and headliner.
Scotch guarded the interior.

Removed front bumper, cleaned the rust off inside as best I could and painted the inside.
While It was off I polished it with the mothers power ball.
Sorry no pictures, it was getting dark.

Removed the wiper motor cover, and wiper arms. Cleaned and repainted.
Removed the front valance, clean and painted.
Removed the plastic radiator cover, cleaned and painted.

Tomorrow, I plan on finishing the front bumper. I need to readjust it, its too low. (any tips on this? Just loosen the four big bolts and move it up?)

Clean and paint door handles and mirrors. Also doing the bed rail covers and removing/cleaning the rear bumper.
The rear bumper should come off about the same as the front I am guessing.
Restore my hitch step, and re paint the receiver.
If I have time after that, wash and wax. I wanted to clay it I just don't have the money.

And, pictures.

Before.

Titan357: Nice job, all the plastic parts look great. Can't wait to see the bumper, on how it turned out.

Average-Joe: Wheels look killer.

sablan'04: Truck looks fantastic top to bottom.

Came home and took my truck behind the house for some pics--my truck showed that as long as you know how to drive properly, a 2WD is just as capable as a 4WD...

Had my 33"nitto tires put on my stx regular cab and dropped in a high flow k and n airfilter. I was amazed at the boost from the filter alone. Acceleration has increased noticeably and my engine seems to breath better if that makes sense. Have to wait n see if it helps the mpgs.
