Keyed 12V power??

I was told that there is a keyed 12V power source under in dash, near the steering column but I can not seem to find it. Does anyone know what color/s the wire is? Or where I may be able to find a keyed 12V power source?

I already tried the radio, but the trigger wire for that only has a 5amp fuse. If it were 10/15/20 I wouldn't worry being that I am only going to be pulling a max of 1.5amps off of it.

Any help would be great!! I have almost 1/2 of the interior of my truck tore apart right now, and would really like to get everything back together this weekend, the only problem is the keyed power...

Run a relay off the battery fused and use the radio for the trigger

I ended up finding and using fuse #18 which is keyed on/off. Got all the wiring done and the truck put back together. Now I just have to wash the truck, vac it out and post some pics of the newest mods.

sounds like you already got it... but for your reference, and for others... here is how I did it for my GPS.

The GPS doesn't take much so I just used the radio power.

Here is a nice writeup on how to do a hookup with a relay

(I used it to help find the wires on my mod)
