Any one else Having this problem.
2004 f-150 66,000 miles
It started last year and its getting worse.up front near the grill.
What to do?

 

Repaint! Or use this chance to get a new aftermarket hood!!

 

The good part is the hood is aluminum. So it won't rust if you don't paint it.

 

Don't know what color your truck is but silver and metallic blues (mostly) have had this problem since the mid 60s.

 

i thought our hoods were plastic?

my last white 04 company owned work truck had this happen at the front edge. i tried to paint it myself w/ dupli color(I am not a body man and the results showed)
now i have a company owned white 06 and it is not doing it(115,000mi)

seems like there was something wrong with the primer coat.

aluminum won't rust, but it does corrode.

either have a body shop repaint or do the front edge yoursef(so it does not corrode further) and add a bug shield to hide it, assuming it is just the front edge.

interestingly, my personal silver 04 shows no signs of this
