Unhappy Help with power sliding rear window

Ok guys, hope someone can help me with this.

So back in October, I was at campus after arriving and went to shut my power slider rear window and for some reason it seemed hesitant to close So I managed to get it shut and I was baffled. Since, there is slack on the right side of cable. And the motor hums and tries to move it, but there is too much slack. My dad lubricated it with White Lithium grease and it is no better. What caused the slack and how do I fix it? Any ideas fellas/gals

I may be wrong, and I have never taken one of these apart, but I believe the cables are attached to a plastic wheel inside the motor by a ferrule, it would seem that that ferrule has either come off or the plastic has broken, giving slack on one side of the cable and not the other. New window motor time most likely, unless you luck up at a junk yard.

you.ll have to pull the backrest part of the seat and the mech is right there easy to get to only pain is getting the backrest off you have to push a screwdriver in the right places to unlock it. i think there's a thread with pics on pulling it

Not trying to steal the thread or anything but could this be related in any way to the "jam" i have when the window gets 3/4 shut and slows the closing down drastically??

My truck just sat at the dealership for a week - window originally broke/jammed within the first six month's of ownership...I just unhooked the cable and shut it. The dealer said something was wrong with the track on the window. To me it was the motor & cable - they fixed it. But I guess it was a PITA being that it took so long.

Mine didn't work when I bought my truck, and it just randomly started working a couple months later, never had a problem from it since. Even took it to a couple of dealers after I bought it, no one ever touched it. Magic.

mine stopped working then it started then stopped again. i finally decided to check it out pulled the backrest got to it smacked with a pair of channelocks and it's working again. the motor is easy access once the backrest is out of the way.

Figured I'd long time bump this. Since my original post I've since graduated college and been out for nearly 3 years LMAO! Back when I posted his, upon pulling the rear seat we found that the cable had become a rat's nest so my dad had helped me disable the cable from the window. Been opening it manually for 6 years and I'm tired of it lol. Just ordered a new motor and cable assembly yesterday . Only 6 years to get it fixed! New OEM off eBay for $100 shipped.

As much as I use mine (when it was a DD) I couldn't have dealt with it being converted to manual! Glad you got it fixed.

I guess they're used lol, mine looked brand new.

Offer $100 and they'll take it. http://m.ebay.com/itm/OEM-2004-2008-FORD-F-150-F150-LINCOLN-LT-REAR-SLIDING-POWER-WINDOW-MOTOR-/141381859023?nav=SEARCH

Yeah it was something I got used to. But with the truck having been a weekend toy over a year now, I wanted it fixed. I'm crossing all the minor things off my list now.
