HELP? Airbag Light Codes????

Please help me determine what this blinking light means? I have a 2004 F150 STX - 4.6L and the air bag light is flashing 1-8 when it starts and stays on while driving. I was hoping I could replace the part myself as I don't have time to drop it off at the dealership. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

pull your center piece of your dash off and make sure the little light at the top center is plugged in. when messing with my radio i forgot to plug back in at one point and it did the same thing.

Do you have anything in your right seat? I know that on the nights Im at the fire house if I put my gear bag in the pass seat the airbag light comes on. If you plug in your seat belt does it go away?

Post Follow up

I've had this truck for almost 6 years now. The passenger seat pretensioner always worked fine. Until one morning I started the truck up and the airbag light was flashing (1-8) and now I notice that the passenger seat airbag light does not light up at all... Even when I manually turn it off using the manual passenger air bag shut off.

I have never removed my center dasboard and all of the original radio/AC controlls are all still in place and working fine.... just not passenger airbag light.

Any idea if I can fix this myself or do I HAVE to bring it into the dealership? I have been to my local dealership many times and am not very happy with their service. Plus, my schedule is limited.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

I had a similar issue. I had the light blinking in the dash cluster, and the ab on/off light would not work any more. I was told that the codes it was blinking; the bulb on the key on/off switch was out. In order to fix that (if it is the issue) go to radio shack and buy a new bulb and solder it in yourself. Not too sure what was truly up w mine but after I high pressure cleaned and degreased my engine compartment, it went back to normal!! wt? haha try cleaning your engine..... hope this could help somehow. snapps
