New truck-Got some towing questions.

Just got a 2008 King Ranch F150 4x4 Super Crew. How do I know if it has the towing package? What is the rear axle? Dana60? What is the Over Dive button (o/d) for and when do I use it? Simple questions I know the answers too but I just want to double check. The only thing I really tow around is a Malibu V-Ride and I don`t even tow it that frequently but I do use my bed everyday putting hundreds of pounds into it at a time.

The towing package has a transmission cooler, factory hitch and 7 pin and 4 connectors.
The rear end is either an 8.8 (10 bolts) or 9.75 (12 bolts). I believe theyre both made by Ford.
I just leave the OD on but Ive heard youre supposed to take it out of OD when towing or hauling heavy loads, especially on hills.

If the truck has a factory receiver hitch (it is has bumper brackets to had the rear bumper built into it) the 4/7 pin connectors and also a tranny cooler right behind the front bumper, then you have the factory towing package. Being that you have a King Ranch you will have the 5.4L so you will have the 9.75 rear end and a 8.8" front. The OD button should only be used if the truck is shifting in and out of OD alot, like when towing a heavy load on hills or into a head wind. Or once in a while if in city traffic at 40-45 mph mine will "hunt" between 3rd and OD, so then I just turn OD off. But I think that has only happened maybe 5-6 times.
