RBP vs N-Fab nerf bars

Anyone have any input on the differences between the RBP & N-Fab cab mount wheel to wheel black nerf bars for a supercrew?? They look almost identical, but the RBP's carry a higher price tag.. go figure

I don't think RBP designs or makes anything other than the hideous grille they sell. RBP bars = NFABS + RBP logo + price parkup.

Rbp bars are made by N-Fab. The difference is the coating on them. The RBP's won't rust like the cheap powdercoating on the n-fabs.

how is the coating on the RBP's any different than the coating NFAB supplies? super duper special powder coating? powder coating is powder coating. do you have any other info to back up your claim?

Yeah. I own both bars. The RBP's aren't regular powdercoating. They are a textured finish that have an anti rust chemical in them. Also n-fabs are powdercoated on the outside. The rbp's are dipped so it is on the inside also. If you looked at them side by side you can see the difference.

Big Slick, you say powdercoating is powdercoating. Not true at all. They're are different types of powdercoating. You have cheap stuff that most of the manufactors use to keep cost down and then you have stuff that if you take something in and tell them you want this piece done right that will last alot longer. It's just like paint. You have the cheap crap and then you have House of Colors.

Cheap solution. Buy the nfabs with "crappy" powdercoat and get the lined with line x for still less than the rbp ones.

Care to explain how they "dip" the rbp steps in the powder

It's not powder coating on the Rbp's. It's dipped in a tank. I should have been more clear on that.

honestly, it's a step bar. Nfab has a five year warranty on finish, which is longer than a lot of people keep a vehicle. if it makes you feel better that you spent more on a bar to get a finish that will probably never see the benefit from, by all means.

You ever tried shipping them back for warranty to and from. That's what you have to pay for. Not cheap and when I bought my Rbp's I paid same as n-fab wanted so no loss in money. Damn you guys are touchy.

Thanks for the input guys...

Sonic - As an owner of both, which do you recommend? A good friend of mine is a dealer, so he'll hook me up on pricing. Very anxious to ditch my OEM chrome ones..

btw.. Anyone know about how much my OEM chrome ones are worth? Let me rephrase that.. what do most people actually buy them for second hand?
