Unhappy Another Unsucessful spark plug change

I decided to let the Ford dealership change the plugs. My truck has now been there for the last 3 days, every plug snapped after they let it soak for 24 hours!!! AHHHHHH!! Hopefully I will be getting it back tomorrow, I can't imagine what the bill is gonna be.....

Don't wait till 110,000 miles to change your plugs!

[end vent]

3 days?! What are they using to get the sleeves out? A hammer and chisel?

They have a tool to do the job, 3 hours is what it should be.

Not to get too personal on the cost but I have an 85k old 5.4 with stock plugs and I cant afford to change them, or pay for broken plugs to get fixed. Please post, or PM me, the cost of this job so I can prepare for the worst.

You can buy the Motorcraft plugs for about $65.00 and a Lisle 65600 (Broken Spark Plug Extractor) for anywhere from $60-$100.

I just took out a set of the Motorcraft plugs from my 04 Screw. I bought the truck used, but the plugs actually look to be in great shape. I just changed them as a general rule of thumb when getting a used vehicle. You can have them if you just pay for shipping.

Sounds like they can't read a simple TSB. Reading Is Fundamental.

Doesn't the latest TSB say to remove it with a warm engine? Also, a few people on here change them with impact guns... I think I am going to give that a try I am at 65k

Im going to do mine this spring. Im planing on going the electric impact route my self. Quinton a member on this site is a Ford Tech and he uses a 14.4 volt Snap on impact. He has had great success with this method. In fact i dont think he has broken one since he started using it.
