So, I pulled a dodge the other day

1980's model Dually Turbo, manual Ext cab, 8 foot bed.

Had a goose neck ball, a diamond plate custom made rear bumper, one of the wind deflectors that go on the top of the cab, gray leather seats.

to be short, when the truck was made it was FULLY loaded, and then sent to some custom trucks place where it received all kinds of goodies for towing.

I was told my truck would have a "hard time" pulling it he had ran out of fuel and even though we went and got 5 gallons and put in it it just would not start.

So, I get my tow rope out ( I got some jumper cables and two ratchet straps too FYI, 3 coats, 1 blanket and a extra pair of shoes to boot. ) hook it to my receiver, and his frame.

I put her down to 1st and take the O/D off ( to make sure my boats about pulling it easy where not hollow ) and off I go, the rope tightens up and off we go

So, he puts in it gear ( I felt it lurch a little ) and still easy breezy ( in D now ) pulled her till she started!

slowed to a stop ( the tow rope is like 20 foot long ) and got out, looked at my dad and said see, told you I could pull your truck.

I think dad meant it would be hard to pull start it, who knows.

next day I was in at his garage I got hassled out it, with things like "your tans is whining" or "its gonna fall out"

Dad hates ford, loves dodge, my gramps loves ford like me. My uncle on my moms side works for chevy, and my uncle on my dads side is like me and gramps.

Enjoy it. Those moments where you prove dad wrong come few, and VERY far in between. Chances are, he WONT let it happen again.

shootl, I didn't think to take pics at 11 pm at night!

but yeah, dad is very seldom wrong.

I rubbed in for a day then quit.

oh, by the way, that old truck could out hual/tow me three to one easy.

He has little dozer that weights around 7-8000 lbs not counting the trailor he puts it on is about 2,500lbs, and it pulles it prtty easy for a old truck.

If his bed was as depp as mine I have no doubt it could take twice the load cap of my truck ( 1750lbs says my door )

I can snap a few pics of it RQ, its sitting outside he drove the jeep today.
