More Lift Help-Poll
awesome...i might be ordering tomorrow...but going to look around for some 8" crankable coilovers.
The shocks come to 315 with shipping and shackles 75 with shipping so 390 for the parts not bad.....i wonder how much installation would cost...i dont have time or tools or space with me here at college to do it myself ha.

You can get the dirt logic coilovers for a regular fabtech lift and crank them 2inches for a total of 8inches up front. Can you add a leveling kit on top of cranked coilovers ? Answer is no you will be breaking crap left and right. Basically cranking those coils is adding a leveling kit. but you still have the better ride and etc from having the dirt logics.

But you already have a Rize 8inch and guessing your using factory struts correct? So only options are to get bilsteins for the2inch lift or add a leveling kit. Same thing only you get the better ride from bilsteins. Or you can get custom sway aways, kings but that's pricey like we all know haha. But my post above is just explaining how you can't crank and also add a leveling kit at the same time
so im trying to find the best prices on these bilstein 5100's....anyone know?? eshock.com has a really good price, but theres like two 5100's for the front that dont really tell the difference between the two...so not sure which i need to buy...if that makes sense.
also i might be getting bigger tires next time around....maybe 40's...i know that seems insane being on 10" of lift...but theres a guy back home that is running 39.5" iroks on just 8" rize...alot of trimming...but none the less...he is.
so im thinking maybe Super Swamper Irok 39.5X13.50R20 (but i think it might be too skinny a tire...)
or super swamper M-16 40X14.50R20....because i think a problem with my rubbing at 8" is my backspacing, then having 15.50" wide tires...i think a thinner tire will cut down big on my rubbing.
or lastly... super swamper trxus MT 38.5X14.5R20....last option because they are barely any larger than a 38....so not really any bigger than my mickey thompson mtz's
if anyone has any suggestions for tires im open to listen

my recommendation:
get a RIZE 12" if you want to go bigger. Thats the only route I would go if I wasnt installing it. If you had the time/ tools then Id say go body lift all the way. But a body lift isnt worth a grand. Theres no way in hell id pay someone to install a body lift.
You could contact FOA and see what they can work up for adjustable coilovers. They are pretty decent to work with.
On your tire issue:
Dont run the trXus MT's they were designed for a lighter vehicle, they have issues blowing out under heavier trucks. The Iroks would be a great tire and so would the M16's. I recommend looking at Pitbull tires, they are bias ply but dont let that scare you alot of people are getting real good mileage out of them. And they are designing radial tires now so by the time you are ready they might have a radial in the size you need.

cant afford the rize 12"...even if i got it for 2800.....i need a grand or 1200 just to get my lift un-installed, and the new one installed...then sell my 8".....so maybe get...1800 for my 8"? then i need driveshafts...and everything else.
i know there is a guy somewhere on here that had a white truck, had some dents in the front quarter panel, with 6in. suspension, 3in. body lift, and 40's.
i wanna see haha
you can stack a spacer with aftermarket coils. i have the dirtlogic coils cranked about 2 inches and a 2.5" spacer stacked. it has never caused a problem and my ball joint angles look like a stock truck with a spacer. just incase you were wanting to do that option it is possible even though it was said you can't do it.

also cranking your coils is not like putting a spacer. 2 completely different things. a spacer pushes down all of your suspension components but doesn't take away from the coilover shock travel, meaning you still have the normal suspension travel but all of your other suspension components have some travel added to them because the shock is pushed down.
a cranked coil takes away your suspension travel all at the same time meaning your other components won't have more travel than your shocks. your shocks should not be the limiting factor on your suspension like what a spacer has.
like i said though i have had this setup for 3 years and never had a problem ball joints have worn out but that is normal. good luck man hope it all works out for you. your truck looks good put pics up
