2" level question

I tried the search but couldn't find my answer...I've got a 2" level waiting for me to have some downtime to install it....question is: I'm looking at going with a 18x9" wheel and 325x65x18's...which would work better, a 4.5" BS or 5.7" BS?

4.5 may rub, 5.7 will look good and not stick out as far as the 4.5s.

I'm fine with a little trimming...may put on a lift later down the road so I'd like to go with 4.5", but if there is tons of trimming to be done I'll just go with 5.7" and bite the bullet...

Those tires are 35x13x18 and to get them to fit on 9 inch wide wheels you would need a ton of trimming and they still may rub when turning.

Check mine out. Same 325-65-18 tires on 18x9's. I did 2.5" level and had to do a trim and pin back of the liner on the cab side of the wheel well. I would think you would have more trimming if it fits at all with the 2 in level. Mine is 2007, I didn't see the year on yours. Look at my pics and you will get good idea. I think it would be really pushing it with that tire size and a 2" level and either back space.

How did you shave back the liner exactly? Been considering a 2.5" or 3" level and need a project (other than the audio) when I get back.

A 2 1/2" or 3" kit won't help you very much in this case.

Those 325/65/18's will require a ton of trimming/cutting with 4 1/2" backspacing on 9" wide wheels. The biggest you can fit "comfortably" would be 325/60/18's or 33/12.50/18's and they'll still require some trimming. If you really want to run 325/65/18's stick with the 5.7" backspacing.

so the 5.7" BS will be fine, or will I still have to trim?

You'll still need to trim the lower bumper valence and possibly some of the inner fender but nothing really serious unless you off-road your truck hard.

And what you are speaking of is the 325/65/18 size or 33x12.5x18?

I have been talking about a 325/65/18 and that is a 35x13x18. A 325/60/18 is a 33x13x18.

No problem. If you want a second opinion post this thread in the wheels/tires sub-forum or pm Wandell. He's the "local expert" on tires and wheels.
