I have an 05 xlt 4x4 with a 2.5 leveling kit, with a dual exhaust, and 33's. I am only getting 12 to 13 mpg's no matter how i drive or where. I knew my mpg's was going to go down when i upgraded in tire size but i didn't think it would drop this bad.

Well its a truck in the first place. These things are gas guzzlers lol. But try changing your fuel filter, Getting a cold air intake, or a programmer

yea i didn't buy it for the mpg's just am wanting to try and get a little better. I gona proly get an intake and a programmer when the money is there.

i have 32" a/t's. 4.6 engine. just changed fuel filter. gotts mod intake. edge programmer level two.

noticed my biggest gain after changing fuel filter at 100k.

i pull from 16 around town to 24 (at 55 cruise), and right around 20 at 70-75. i have pics to prove if they are necessary.

Yea yours is also 2x4 and lighter but you are lucky to get that kind of mpg i plane on getting mod's which i hope will put my mpg's up to about 15 or so.

I am with you Sam. I am seeing low to mid 20s at 60mph. I am at nearly 25 at 45-50

Yea when mine was stock the best i ever got was around 20 i never got better than that and that was only one time.

Also how are you figuring out what what your mpg's are?
buy the computer?
I only trust doing it by hand i never trust the computer but that is just me

are you compensating for the % that your speedo is off due to the larger tires? that will give you a false MPG reading if youre not taking that into consideration when calculating your MPG's

I have checked the speedometer with a gps and it is only off by 1 so it isn't a factor

Get a programmer cuz ur about 2 less then me and we have same set up, save the EDGE evo.

What you should do is fill up your tank and go till your almost empty and do that math with the miles and how big your tank is. That will give you the best answer

Ive been getting 14 mpg with a totally stock truck so with bigger tires youre probably about right getting 12-13.

I average 14.5-15 mpg virtually every tank full. Mine is basically a 50/50 split of city and hwy. I am running 2.5" AS, 325/60/18 Nitto TG on 18X9 wheels, Edge Evo on lvl2, Airaid Jr. intake, custom 3" si/so exhaust, Truxedo Lo-Pro cover, the truck has the 5.4L and 3.73 gears.

Just throwing out numbers is useless without considering the geography of an area. I live on the coastal plains and hardly ever encounter hills other than freeway ramps. I have 305-55-20's (33.2") tires, 3.73 gears, 5.4 V8 and get 20-21 mpg on the Highway/15 mpg city if I drive the speed limit.
Since I bought my truck, my best mpg is at 40 mph. I have 120K+ miles and counting but motor condition and maintenance also factor in.

When I leave the coastal plains my mpg drops respectively...bigger hills, worse mpg.

Dont just look at posted numbers and think your problem is your truck when there are so many factors to consider.

I have 33" tires, on my 08' w/5.4L and I get just shy of 20 mpg with cruise control set at 65 mph. Interestingly, I can pull my boat at 59 mph, and get the same 19.7 mpg :) Granted, it's a light boat, but everybody said it would decrease my mileage. I guess they were not figuring I drive 6 mph slower when towing.

Sure, I'd like to get better mileage.... But I had said before I bought my truck, that if I could get close to 20, I'd be happy.

Here's an amazing, but totally true fact >

I used to have an old, worn out Toyota Tacoma with a 4 cyl motor, which only got 18 mpg pulling my boat ! + I used to have to beat the living $#!+ out of that thing, just to get it over a hill. With my F150, unless its a really steep, tall hill (a mountain ;) it often won't even need to downshift to get over the same hills ! I'm sure it will last longer because of this.

Toyota's last forever.... YEA RIGHT ! I wore mine out in 8 years, with only 185K miles on it ! Okay, it never actually broke, but it was so worn out, it barely passed smog to be able to sell it !
