Post Unknown Failures

Well Obviously I am new to the "150" scene. I am thinking about lifting as most people are but after reading some posts about just increasing tire sizes to much there seem to be some hiding issues for modded trucks. I have a 4x4 supercab and plan on a 6" lift and going for 33-35" tires. So what can i expect to fail short term and long term. I know that I should look into redoing my rear end. Probably do that when i have some sort of locking diff stuffed in there and save the time on that. I am worried about my tranny.(I have a 99 Dodge RAM before so tranny problems are a constant worry fot me.) What about linckage? Do I have to worry about wheel camber when lifting since unlike my jeep we dont have a solid front axle?

Fear not... the F150's tranny is much better than the Dodge Tranny's... in fact, I got stuck on a Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel 2002, with a junked 47RE tranny. Which I ordered a bulletproofed rebuilt 47RE with 4 disc Billet converter. However, I'm trying to get rid of it, but I want some "interest" in it so it sells more easily.

I've got a '07 with a manual tranny, but most on here say the 4R70E and 4R75E are great transmissions.

Yes, you still need to worry about front wheel cambering when lifting.

Really, a NV5600 would solve a lot of people's problems.

No one knows how to drive stick, so it's ruthless...

I would love a manual truck , but I would rather have a loaded auto, than a base manual.

I never said it didn't have to be loaded to have a manual...

My Dak for example came fully loaded, power locks, windows, seats, auto dimming rear view, and even the expensive black interior... it's got way more luxury than my F150 and most people's FX4 and Lariets on here.

And guess what it's got for a tranny? A NV3500 manual... not missing a beat of luxury in that thing.

the 4R75E may not be bullet proof, but it is the strongest half ton trans IMO

Who cares if it is a tiny dakota or a Ford F250/350...

Back in the 2000 era, you could've gotten a nice 2000 Ford F350 Diesel Dually, 4x4, Scab, power seats, windows, mirrors, rear dimming mirror, privacy glass, chrome rims, etc with a 6 speed manual transmission with no problem and in fact, that's the recommended option by Ford.
