2006 f150 4.6 misfire / rough idle

The problem originally started happening when I was getting low on gas - very rough idle and hesitation on acceleration. Thinking it might possibly be fuel related, I filled up and after a minute of running it went away. A week later the same thing happened at a low fuel level so again I filled up and it went away.

This time though the check engine light came on so I pulled the codes and it was an EGR code. Forgot to write it down. I cleared the code, thinking it was a fluke, and changed the fuel filter. It ran fine for another few months.

Now the rough idle and the hesitation is back, and the truck is undriveable. I changed the plugs and tested the coil overs and the fuel injectors with a volt meter. The resistances were all within range.

I have 3 pending codes now which are:

p1288
Cylinder Head Temp Sensor Out of Self Test Range

p0208
Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 8

p0505
Idle Air Control System

I'm wondering if the computer is putting the truck into limp mode due to the temp sensor.

Thanks

So take it off and clean it out?

What entails a PCM reflash?

Got it figured out. Cleaned out the throttle body and all of the codes went away.

Running like new now.
