Driving lights, your reviews please.

I did a little searching and did not find what I was looking for so let me ask. I want to install driving lights behind the grille. I know there are several write ups regarding the how to. What I am curious about is what driving lights are you guys using and what are your opinions of them? I may upgrade my headlights to some silver stars, but have no plans on going to HIDs. I want the driving lights to match (bright white). As far as looks I want to go with round lights roughly 6-7" in diameter.
Any reviews you guys may have on what driving lights your using would be great.

im using two hella 500's with 55w bulbs in them and (forget what its called) they have a rectangular beam pattern so they dont have the blinding highs like a spot. they work really well in my opinion and light up alot of the road my headlights miss and add to where they do shine.

Thanks for the info, the 500's were one of the sets I was looking at. Anyone else out there care to comment?

i think the op was wanting a driving light he can run all the time on main roads like the ones ive got. the center light on mine is a spot that i can turn on if needed out in the middle of nowhere

granted i have them on a light bar but i have 4-700ff hellas and they are great. the 700's are just the 8 inch version i believe compared to the 500's @ 6 inch.

Hey thejake, does that picture above show your stock OEM lights on the far outside, you know, the ones that look like an afterthought compared to the two "suns" shining in the middle?

If so, I am LONNNGGG overdue for a good set of driving lights and am subscribing to this thread now! I want better lights. Didn't know what I was missing.

Got a set of the hella500s off eBay for 40 bucks shipped. Great light output. But like said earlier when you meet a car they don't usually like them. But I run hids in them so that's a different story. Yikes. Super bright

I was just referring to it being really blurry and rain on the windshield, not complaining about the aiming of the lights. Just bustin' yer *****.

Thanks guys, I want to stick to driving lights and not spot lights, I might go with the 500's behind the grill. I think the 700's behind the grill would be a little too big, save those for a light bar. I will search around for prices, I saw AutoAnything has the 500's (the kit) for roughly $80.

Good deal, just looked on ebay and they have them for $49.95 with about $10 shipping - thats $20 cheaper. They have both the free form and the parabolic sets. I like the looks of the free form lens, what set are you guys running?
