Thanks to the factory warranty they had someone there in 20 minutes. Didn't cost anything. Dude got into the truck super fast.

I was freaking out for a second. Still can't believe I managed to do that. Ha.

 

i locked mine inside enough to get a hide a key but never running. 20 minutes is really fast

 

I did that once. Had to call the wife to bring me her key.

 

I lock my keys in my truck all the time....I love it, because I hate carrying them around in my pocket. But then again I have the keyless entry keypad. Do all the F-150's with power locks have the feature that will immediately unlock the drivers door if you lock it with the key in the ignition but with the truck off???

 

yea keyless pad is key....never a lockout again

 

I've done it, while running. Cops around these parts have to pop it for free... community policing

 

Thats why I love my keypad, I lock my keys all the time in my truck so I dont have to carry them around its one of the best perks of owning a ford.

 

My neighbor asked me if I had a spare key. I said, "Yes, I do, actually. The only issue is it's 1200 miles away in Vermont." haha

I called Ford direct. I told the guy I was low on gas so he said he'd do everything he could to expedite the process. I got an automated call like 30 seconds after I hung up that told me the name of the company and the expected time. Dude showed up so quick. I was only worried that had it been something like two hours that I'd run out of gas.

Either way, all is well. He didn't mess up the door. By the looks of it (literally took him 30 seconds) these trucks are easy to break into.

Like I said, didn't cost a penny. He just had to take my license number, plate, vin, current millage and my signature.

I will be keeping a spare key at my apartment from now on.
That was the crazy thing. I was home! I quickly pulled up to pick something up, left it running and took just my house key off the key ring. Got out and locked the door without even thinking. Locking my door is just such a habit that I do every time.

Ha Ha I Did that once in my old car. luckily We were hanging at the fire department and somebody had a slim jim. They threatened to use the jaws of life though. LOL Mean ole firemen LoL J/K

 

I've done that in my truck once or twice. Only it was runnin for 45 mins before I could get back in. But, I had the defrosters on so it melted all the ice off. But I got a coat hanger and bent it so I could shove it through the wing window and go down and push the unlock button.

 

my old ranger had an alarm system that automatically locked the doors after running for 3 seconds... i started the truck and closed the door and remembered too late lol. Luckly, the rear slider is easy to get open/im skinny enough to slide on through hah

 

Thats why i love my keypad. I can warm my truck up in winter and lock the doors.. then just enter my code to unlock.

Plus alot of times i do not like carrying the keys around so i just hide them in my truck and lock and unlock with keypad.

 

Dont lock your keys in your truck with the radio on. Guess what. When you comeback 8 hours later the keypad doesnt work anymore cause the battery is dead. Luckily I figured out how to jimmy the hood open and hook up jumper cables.

 

I left my dogs inside my truck at a gas station 100 miles from my house, keys hanging in the ignition, and one of my dogs locked the doors. The card with the code on it was in the glove box. I called my son, who had been looking at the card a couple weeks earlier, and he had memorized the code. Now the code stays in my wallet.

 

Until you get a dead battery.
