Question Buckin and Hissin!

I've searched the forums...... i know that the bucking in 50-60mph is a TSB... I'm going to have the PCM re flashed "AGAIN!"....the bucking will be back in about 2 weeks~... .. i also ordered some Dr Tranny, i've read on here that seems to help out as well...

now!.... i can duplicate the bucking evertime... but now.. for the past 6 mths... its now accompanied by a loud a#$ hiss.... i mean the steamer is full .. top blew off type of hiss.... it seems to only happen when going up a hill or slight grade... . i've had intake and throttle body spacer (i know.. save the jokes.. but i feel the diff, and thats all that matters... ITS IN MY HEAD MAN!).. installed since i got the truck. (over 4 yrs).. this is the first time the hiss is happening.. go figure i have 10k left on warrenty!.. lol.... clean filter, new fuel filter, all new fluids - oil and tranny.... new tires.. etc.. i mean its been overhauled.. i've looked for rocks, mud... etc that would be causing an air pocket for the hiss but nada~.... anyone...

thanks in advance!

i think the buckin part might be bad spark plugs mine did that same thing when i had it in cruse control around 40-50mph and it would buck and then it finally threw a code and it was a cyc7-6 misfire.. took the plugs out and those plugs electrode tips were bent in.?!? i dont know.... but replaced all 8 and runs good...

well.. after a week..i still don't have my truck.. hopefully today.. dropped it off last Tues... went on Friday to drive with the tranny guy...(he couldn't duplicate my issue..)..... so i had to!....drove it around the block , and duplicated it on every incline~... dummies.... he told me its not the trans, but possibly bad coils.... so now I'm out for the spark-plugs.. hopefully its not much more than that.. i need my truck back!.. .. as far as the hissing... he said it could be caused by a vacuum.. something to do with the 4x4 engaging or something.... so hopefully they'll get that fixed.. man i cant wait till this warranty is up... I'm done with the stealer!....

You might try cleaning your MAF sensor too. If you're running an oiled filter, excess oil can accumulate on the wire and cause all sorts of drivability issues.

CRC's MAF Sensor Cleaner works well. You should be able to find it at most auto parts stores.

back to business guys!...reprogrammed this morning... truck probably runs the best it has ever~.. waiting for that buck and hiss this morning.. nothing but strong pulling~... finally~... tune up... change the plugs.. oil change... the hiss was a worn hole in a vacume line..the buckin was from the plugs misfiring... 400$ later... but at 90k.. and how new it feels again, it was worth it... all the stress... .now to save for shocks, and I'll be good! haha

its always something..
