Just got another motor put in my 2005 F150 yesterday. It is a used 5.4 motor out of a 2006 with 35K on it. Only mods i have to the engine is an AF1 CAI 3', did not install my gryphon. drove fine initially. I gunned it coming on the interestate and it didn't rev up as quick as it should. The wrench came on but did not effect cruising drivability. Checked code with my gryphon. The code was p2006: Intake manf runner ctrl stuck closed bank 1 A- or something to that effects-. Today i've been WOT several times and noticed what seems to be a high metallic squeal It occurs @ 3000 RPM or higher and is high metallic sound. Not grinding but almost sounds like a bad pulley or something. Additionally it seems that during WOT it hesitates to rev up and doesn't have much pick up, kinda lulls. Almost like it revs but doesn't produce the acceleration. I have no tranny slippage or issues.


Called dealership where it was put in (which is hour away) and was asked "how soon can you have it back." I can't get it back until monday @ earliest. I was told that it would probably be ok and if it messed up that the tow would be covered under the motor warranty. He said it could be a few things but could indicate a bad motor. I am taking it back to the original dealership for them to fix the issue.

What does this p2006 code mean and could it be causing the symptoms i'm experiencing?
