Thanks F-150 community

I had a rough idle now and then on my 5.4 3v with 48,000 on it so I pulled the throttle body and cleaned it don't even know its running now until I step on the gas. With the low miles that have on this truck I was hesitant on pulling it thinking it can't be that dirty it wasn't but I guess it was enough. The only carbon build up that I had was around the bore were the plate opens and closes none on the plate it self. Do they still coat the plates in teflon? I guess this is going to part of my regular matinace on the truck use to only do it at tune up time on my other Fords 60k-100k. How often do you guys clean yours? I'm thinking I might do mine every 30k when I do the air & fuel filter.

I'd change the fuel filter on your truck at 15,000 mile intervals at least. They tend to get very dirty.
