extended cab or four door?????????
my wifes truck is a scab and i have a screw getting the car seat in and out is way easier in my truck. i always thought that the backseat legroom in the scab made it useless. everybody keeps talking about the screw with a 5.5' bed and it being to small well if that is a problem find one with the 6.5' bed as mentioned earlier. i would not own a truck that wasnt a screw.
I have an 08 Screw and I was planning on getting an 07 Scab. I have no kids but the wife and I plan on having 1 kid by the end of this year/early next year. I will seriously consider keeping the Screw if the space is that much of an issue with the Scab.
Well Utap1, I guess that answers your question LOL. Alot of diversity you're finding here. Take your car seat down to the dealer and drive both, that's the only way you'll know for sure. Don't forget your wallet.

Just about any single child seat will fit rear facing in the middle of the Scab. Nothing will fit outboard rear facing rear facing and leave the respective front seat usable for medium to tall adults. Forward facing child seats have a similar problem because when the children are old/large enough to change, they need legroom too. Because of the angle of the Scab seatback and the angle of child seats, they take up more space (length) than small adults. People do it, but it isn't fun.
Also, a parent often wants to ride next to the child, especially first time parents. Space for kids and adults required.
No Scab owner with kids will say the Scab is better than a Screw. It's just a matter of compromises each person is willing to make.
