outside temp gauge = wrong

my outside temp gauge constantly reads about 20-30 degrees colder than it actually is
its about 80 outside now and it was reading 53 on the way to the dealer earlier
is there a way to reset it or re-calibrate it? or is there a sensor or something that can be replaced to fix this?

i dont have the information center FYI, just compass and temperature and odometer, etc.

The sensor is mounted on the front of the core support. Pick up the hood and you'll see it mounted directly in front of you.

What year is your truck? I know the 04's had a TSB about incorrect temperature readings. The fix was an update to the computer.

My old '05 did the same. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty.

Can't be Celsius, 80F would be 26C.
