Dealer didn't Give me a Lug Wrench!!!
I just noticed that the dealer I got my truck from in October last year didn't give me a Lug Wrench. Anybody got one they don't need? FYI 2007 SuperCrew XLT.
Thanks, Philip P.S. Not enough posts for the classifieds yet . . . I'm working on it! |
So it's not there under the right hand rear passenger seat with the jack and jack handle extensions? Bummer.

i would go back to the dealer and get one

Forget the dealer lug wrench. With the lugs torqued to 150 lbs (or more, if your tire shop rattled them on tighter), the factory lug wrench is not much more than useless. Get an aftermarket one that fits into the same space as the factory one like a Gorilla brand.

Forget the lug wrench altogether. Buy a good 1/2 drive breaker bar, a good extension and a proper size socket. Keep that in the truck and you'll never have a problem.

I would still try to get the lug wrench from the dealer you bought it from. It is also used to drop your spare tire, along with the 3 (?) extension bars that are supposed to come with it.
I don't use the factory lug wrench for anything but that purpose (which hasn't happened yet:thumbsup:) Otherwise I use a breaker bar to get the lugs off and then a torque wrench to put them back on. |
Yea, its the lowering of the spare that I wanted it for. The dealer is 30 miles away. To much trouble for a $15 wrench from the one a few miles away. Just thought I'd post anyway
The extension bars are there though . . . weird! |

Guess I assumed if you didn't have the wrench, you wouldn't have the extensions either.
I Agree with T-Bird then. Keep some quality tools in your vehicle for this, and other purposes. (I keep a small set of rachet/sockets, a 1/2 breaker bar, oil, and spare serp. belt.) |
I gave up on using the lug wrenches for actually removing lugs years ago. I just got a 4-way and have just transferred it to each vehicle as I get a new one. Works like a charm. Never had any problems removing lugs from any vehicle with it.

Buy a torque wrench you will need one anyway. Make sure it it has goes to alteast 150 lbs.
