Adding LED lighting to interior of truck. Want to run a separate switch. Pulled apart the dash a little bit and find this: It's the power lead for the powered pedals should you have a Lariat.

Can I use this for my power and ground? I don't see why not.

The peddles work with the truck off IIRC so the power would be constant. If you are switching it it could work, but why not run a dedicated power line into the truck and fuse it properly.
Because I have a power and ground right there. I understand that the plug is hot the whole time, but if I'm putting it on a switch type connector will I still be ok? Thnx for the reply tho. I wasn't even going to cut this connector,,just tap into a power and ground source. I'm not an electronics wizard so excuse my ignorance. Haaa

I would still run a dedicated power and ground wire, but that is just me. If you know for sure what is hot and what is ground then go for it, but not what I would do. Not really a great answer, but to each his own. Take pictures of the LED install. Where are they going?
I have one already placed above the radio/center of dash. Little tri-light thing. Going to do footwells of drivers side and passenger side,,wire them all as one and hopefully use this connector. Payday is tomorrow so I'm hoping to get this done this weekend. I'll update w/pics.
I hear what you are saying tho. I'll weigh my options. Thnx again.

You should be fine as long as you don't have a power driver seat. With no power seat it's a dedicated 16 gauge wire, 30 Amp fused circuit. Fuse #109. At that connector it will be the redl/light blue wire for positive and either of the solid black wires for ground.

Just pull the headlamp switch out and tap the lines there. You pretty much have access to it and it's the correct place to splice, considering you are doing lighting.
You have your choice of switched and non-switched power that matches the rest of your interior lights. That way you won't drain the battery when you forget to turn off the switch.

Roush: I hear ya, but there may be times that I want to run the headlights and not the interior LED's (say for instance, daylight during rain.)
